Our Goal & Philosophy
At KHS, athlete development is grounded in evidence-based training principles and individualized assessment. Our goal is to support athletes at every stage of development — from foundational movement skills to advanced performance training — helping them train effectively, stay healthy, and reach their full potential. We believe strongly in providing fundamental activity structure and programming for youth and adults alike so they are not only able to perform at their best, but more importantly, have a positive and life-long lasting experience with physical activity and sports.
Who This Is For
Our assessment and programming offer individuals the opportunity to maximize performance and reduce injury risk. Athlete development programs are available for:
- Youth and developing athletes
- Competitive and high-performance athletes
- Active individuals and fitness enthusiasts
- Athletes returning to sport following injury
- Individuals seeking to improve their overall strength, fitness, and performance
Advanced Assessment & Technology
Our clinicians design structured programs that help athletes build a strong physical foundation, improve movement quality, and perform with confidence. Every therapeutic exercise program begins with a comprehensive assessment of movement patterns, strength, flexibility, balance, and functional abilities.
We extensively use the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Y-balance test to analyze movement patterns and injury risk. We provide targeted corrective exercises, mobility techniques, and sport-specific programming. Our goal is to keep you on the field, on the job, and in the “game” with optimal performance. We strive to not only rehabilitate your injury but to identify the risk of injury BEFORE it happens!
Clients have exclusive access to the FMS exercise programming software to view their individual programs. They are also provided with a summary of their FMS screen and Y-Balance test results in comparison with gender, age, and sport-specific norms.
Collaborative Care
Our KHS Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, and Sports Medicine Physician all work collaboratively within the clinic, as well as alongside coaches and other health professionals, to ensure our athletes receive consistent and coordinated care.
