Bio
Dylan has worked across Canada in outdoor programs supporting the growth and healing of groups and individuals, as well as guided multiple self-propelled adventures hiking, skiing, and paddling throughout BC, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and Northern Canada. Dylan has presented nationally and internationally at Adventure Therapy and Experiential Learning conferences. Throughout these experiences Dylan has recognized that success requires good relationships, authentic connections, and a foundation of trust. These values are at the core of Dylan’s work. He trusts that you are the expert in your own life and will figure out with you what will work for you.
Dylan has a Recreation Leadership Certificate from Camosun College, an undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria and a master’s of Social Work with a clinical specialization from the University of Calgary. Dylan has been a Registered Clinical Social Worker (AB) since 2015. Dylan is trained in multiple treatment modalities (DBT, CBT, ART, CPS, MI) and draws from extensive experience to co-design a plan with you that highlights strengths, increases coping and connection, and helps you reach your goals. He has over 25 years’ experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan and specializes in working with men, families, youth, and young adults. Dylan has helped people experiencing mental health challenges, emotional and relationship challenges, substance use challenges, as well as major life changes (career/school, divorce, loss, injury, independence).
When Dylan isn’t working, he’s hiking and skiing in the Rockies or watching his kids play ringette and waterpolo.
Please be aware that Dylan is based in Alberta and all sessions are currently only being offered virtually. In-person sessions may be offered in the future.
