Founded in the Kootenays and built through hands-on experience, we have evolved from a trade-driven operation into a company capable of managing multi-million-dollar developments with provincial-level rigor. Our roots have instilled an uncompromising standard of quality – a discipline we now apply to large-scale infrastructure.
Today, our work spans affordable and supportive housing, childcare facilities, hospitality, mixed-use commercial developments, and public infrastructure. We partner with housing societies, municipalities, Indigenous organizations, and private developers, combining the systems and bonding capacity of a large firm with the responsiveness of a dedicated regional partner.

The North Mountain story began long before our doors opened. It started with Gabe Tyler’s childhood, navigating the steep streets and forest trails of his hometown, Nelson, BC. Growing up in the heart of the Kootenays instilled in him a rugged work ethic and a profound respect for the local landscape. But more than just a backdrop, this place provided a sense of belonging that never left him. Today, that spirit of community is our North Star—it is the fixed point that guides every decision we make, ensuring that as we grow, we remain rooted in the same local values
