We are proud to showcase our work on Claydon Villa, a proposed 5-storey multi-unit residential development located at 2220 2nd Street South in Cranbrook, BC. Owned by the Aqanttanam Housing Society and overseen by Lu’ma Development Management, this vital community initiative is supported by the British Columbia Housing Management Commission and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation. The project involves the careful demolition and removal of three existing residential buildings to make way for a modern five-storey facility, along with sitework provisions for a potential future phase. Beyond providing essential housing, Claydon Villa is deeply committed to the community through a comprehensive Indigenous Participation Plan, which prioritizes employment, long-term career training, and subcontracting opportunities for local Indigenous workers and businesses.
As the Construction Manager and General Contractor (GC) for the Claydon Villa project, NMC is leading both the pre-construction and construction phases of this build. Our role encompasses managing all site operations, from the initial demolition of the existing structures and adherence to strict environmental safety protocols, to coordinating trades and ensuring high-quality construction execution. We are also actively collaborating with the Aqanttanam Housing Society to champion the goals of the project’s Indigenous Participation Plan, fostering inclusive hiring practices that support Indigenous members, women, and underrepresented youth. Through our commitment to safety, efficiency, and community partnership, NMC is honored to help bring this transformative housing vision to life.
