Leading with the practical discipline of a hands-on carpenter.
A Builder’s Foundation
Gabe Tyler began his career in construction as a hands-on carpenter, building with the practical discipline that comes from working directly in the field. Over the last 18 years, he has grown North Mountain Construction from a small local builder into a regional leader—shaped by practical experience, strong relationships, and a clear understanding of what it means to deliver quality work in smaller communities.
Today, Gabe leads North Mountain with a focus on accountability and clarity. Whether delivering a complex housing project or a landmark commercial asset, his approach remains consistent: build teams that care, plan with discipline, and deliver infrastructure that stands the test of time.
Viewing development as a long-term commitment to community and environment.
Stewardship & Responsibility
Gabe grew up in a boat-access-only area outside Nelson, where access, land use, and environmental stewardship were everyday realities. As a teenager, he worked alongside community members to support shoreline conservation efforts—an early experience that shaped his view of development.
He does not view construction as separate from the environment or the community, but as a responsibility to both. That perspective is embedded in the company’s culture: we build with an awareness that infrastructure lasts, decisions carry consequences, and good work earns trust over time.
